Audra Rankin, MED ALC
Associate Licensed Counselor
Under the supervision of Kelley Cousins Jones
I am a mental health professional specializing in setting boundaries, goals, and improving self-worth. I work with those struggling with anxiety, depression, and relational conflict. I work with teens, adults, families, couples, and individuals.
After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Psychology, I attended the University of Montevallo, where I earned a Master's Degree in Education in Counseling. I completed my internship at a Christian counseling office in Birmingham and enjoyed using God's Word in combination with research-based theories to help my clients overcome difficult situations.
I worked as an elementary school counselor for 9 years in Birmingham, where I gained extensive training working with children and families.
Currently, I am training in helping trauma survivors, patients with PTSD, and moving into Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing psychotherapy (EMDR). I utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Bowen's Family Systems theory within the context of family relationships.
I believe counseling is one of the best tools people can use to propel themselves forward and healthier so that they can live fuller, happier, and more fulfilling lives.
My goal is to hear, see and understand each person I am fortunate to work with, while providing a safe space where they are seen, heard, and valued.
