Chloe Hammick, MS ALC
Associate Licensed Counselor
Under the supervision of Catharine C Edmonds
I am a two-time graduate of Troy University. I first obtained my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Social Work. After, I received a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology.
From acute psychiatric care to private practice, I have worked in a variety of mental health roles. Each of these experiences has shaped me to be the clinician I am today. One of the most important pieces of education I received from each of these roles was expertise in Trauma-Informed Care.
When working with patients with anxiety, depression, and ADHD, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Choice Theory. Both these therapeutic techniques help patients focus on how their thoughts and feelings control their behaviors. For patients with OCD and extreme phobias, I use Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment within each session in order for patients to thrive outside of our office! Whether it is an individual or couples session, I utilize techniques from John Gottman, a clinician and researcher who strives to decrease conflict in all types of relationships.
My goal for mental health is to help patients not only grow and thrive, but to educate them about the importance of counseling. Counseling is just a piece of the whole picture of mental health. Providing a safe therapeutic environment is only the beginning of reducing stigmas within mental health.
