Couples therapy, sometimes called counseling or psychotherapy, is a process where the therapist works with couples to identify and resolve issues affecting the relationship. While it is common for the therapist to engage in one-on-one sessions with the individuals in the relationship in couples therapy, the therapist owes commitment and advocacy principally to the relationship itself.
Crisis therapy, sometimes called counseling or psychotherapy, is a unique session deemed as a crisis due to the immediacy of the response required by the patient from the therapist. Crisis therapy sessions are scheduled at the discretion of Vallis Mental Health and the therapist to the best of the scheduling availability of the practice and are to be identified prior to the session as a crisis session. Please be advised that crisis therapy sessions are NEVER an alternative or replacement to the Emergency Room or calling 911.
